The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center continues its artistcuratingartist series with guest artist curaltor, Cruz Ortiz. According to Ortiz, the curatorial approach for this show revolves around his continued interest and commitment to collaboration. "As an artist who delves into social practice, it only makes sense that the artists that I would choose would have a deep understanding of cooperative overture. Along with this group effort to create artworks, is a strong connection to community building."

MAS RUDAS COLLECTIVE is a group of women artists that employ the democratic process in presenting artwork. Having additional involvements in educational and cultural organizations in San Antonio, these artists have instilled social and community issues into their creative practice. For this exhibition, OPERATION CANIS FAMILIARIS, the collective agreed on the theme: dogs – dogs of the Westside, stray dogs, the male-dominant/"macho" paradigms surrounding pit bulls, and the possible patterns in urban life. Through the eyes of the Westside dog, the artists have created an exterior/interior view of the 21st century cultural landscape.
